About the Belong Bible Study SeriesThe Belong Bible Study series is a collection of studies that explores what it means to be created by God for community and called to belong. Through Scripture, personal reflection, and meaningful conversation, women are encouraged to deepen their faith, embrace their identity in Christ, and help create spaces where everyone is seen, valued, and welcomed.
The Three Vital Parts to Belonging
Ownership, Placement & Membership.
-
To take possession of.
Your faith journey belongs to you. You will get out of this study what you put into it, so take ownership of the process. Find a rhythm and a place where your time with Jesus can flourish. For me, that looks like sitting at my office desk first thing in the morning before anyone else wakes up, with a cup of bullet coffee in hand.
-
Being in the right place at the right time.
I strongly believe the Lord places people in close proximity for a reason. Sometimes that proximity is measured in miles and lasts only for a season. Yet the closeness of heart formed during that season can last a lifetime. Other times, connection is built through shared experiences, similar stages of life, or a common desire to grow.
Who has God placed in your life during this season?
Choose two people to be part of your circle. (There are extra spaces available so your circle can remain open to others who may join later.)
-
Being an accepted part of a group.
Some memberships can be purchased, like my zoo membership. But the most valuable, life-giving memberships are the ones where you are welcomed simply because of who God created you to be.
This kind of belonging develops when life is lived together — through conversations, heartfelt honesty, shared experiences, and showing up for one another. Belonging is an open invitation. It is inclusive, not exclusive. The circle is never closed.
That is why each day of this study ends with a Belonging Question. These questions are designed to help you reflect on what the Lord is teaching you. They are also wonderful discussion starters for conversations with your circle throughout the next six weeks.
My hope is that over these next six weeks you will deepen your sense of belonging, grow in your faith, become comfortable in the deeper places of your walk with God, and experience the presence of Jesus in a fresh way.
Thank you for taking this journey with us.
